Increase Our Faith

and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.” The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” Luke 17:5

As Jesus taught the disciples about forgiveness, they asked him to increase their faith. Why? Because forgiveness takes faith. In order to forgive, we have to put our faith in Jesus and what he did on the cross. We have to release our hurts and pains to the Lord, and recognize that we forgive because he first forgave us. Remember, forgiveness is for you, not for them. There is no spiritual growth without forgiveness. If you are having trouble forgiving, ask God to increase your faith!

What to Pray:
God, thank you for forgiveness! Would you help me to forgive seventy times seven? Reveal to me places in my heart that have become hardened because of unforgiveness. Show me how to forgive by increasing my faith! In Jesus name, Amen.
