When Trials Come

“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.” James 1:2 NLT

God, in His loving kindness towards us, prepared a way for us in all things. When we were still sinners, Jesus died for us. In these verses, we again see how God has prepared a way for us. When--not if, but when--trials come, His word encourages us to take heart and stand firm because great joy will follow. Our part in this is to trust and have unwavering faith in Him to see us through it. His word urges us to seek His wisdom and to embrace the trials this world will bring because through them we experience supernatural growth. God always prepares a way. It is our job as sons and daughters to be unwavering and stand firm in the faith.

What to Pray:
God, teach us how to hear your voice above all others. Teach us to stand firm in our faith as a first response towards the trials that come our way. Thank you, God, for giving us the assurance that we can rest in our faith in you when our present circumstances don’t seem great. God, we seek wisdom from you and you alone to equip us for the trials we face. Our loyalty as your sons & daughters is to you, our Father. We love you. Amen.

The Prayer of Jabez:
Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, “Oh [if] that you would bless me [indeed] and enlarge [Expand] my territory, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm [evil] so that it might not bring me pain!” And God granted what he asked. 1 Chronicles 4:10 KJV, NIV, MSG
