Before You See

“Then the Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men…” Joshua 6:2-21

What measure of faith is the Lord asking you to have during this fast? In Joshua 6, God told Joshua the city was already delivered into his hands before they marched for seven days around the city and saw the walls of Jericho collapse. God could have easily brought down the walls of Jericho with a snap of His fingers or the blink of an eye. But He instead chose a partnership with Israel. He asked them to have faith in what he said would happen — to have faith in their victory, no matter how little sense it made and before they could even see it come to pass. Think back on the name of your fast. What measure of faith is the Lord asking you to have? What are you believing for? Are you fighting for victory or fighting from victory? Lean in with the Lord in your encounter today. Let Him remind you of the victory He promised before you began your fast. Remember, His words will never fail!

What to Pray:
Lord, thank you for reminding me of the victory you’ve promised me. Would you give me faith that believes before I see? No matter how much it doesn’t make sense to the natural eye, would you give me spiritual eyes to see You and Your will alone? Help me to fix my gaze on You, the one who remains true and whose words never fail. Thank you for partnering with me to bring your plans to life on this earth. It will never be mine, but it will always be yours! Thank you for speaking, Holy Spirit. I pray all this in Your name, Jesus! Amen.

The Prayer of Jabez:
Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, “Oh [if] that you would bless me [indeed] and enlarge [Expand] my territory, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm [evil] so that it might not bring me pain!” And God granted what he asked. 1 Chronicles 4:10 KJV, NIV, MSG
