Greater Than
"I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father." John 14:12
It can be easy to play it safe with a life that we can calculate and formulate, but God is inviting us into a life that is far beyond what we can measure. When we begin to step into that truth, he’ll begin to do even greater than what we can ask think or imagine.
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” Ephesians 3:20
God is inviting us into a life of the supernatural. He is inviting us to move from a place of being hurt, frustrated, and confused, into a place of being a faith-filled people that see the power and might of heaven like never before. We sometimes see faith as if it’s something that can be lost. The question isn’t whether or not you have faith, but where have you put your faith? Have you placed your faith in a doctor, a man, a lawyer, or anyone else besides God?
If we put our faith in what is less than, we become a faithless people. A person of great faith becomes faithless when they put their attention on personal circumstances instead of God’s commands.
1. Faith is not an emotion or a feeling, yet it will move you
2. Faith is not a mental agreement to something you say you believe is true
3. Faith is not a relinquishing of all things to the sovereignty of God. “Whatever happens, happens.”
4. Faith is not simply believing for our wants and hopes to be fulfilled.
What to Pray:
God, you are greater than sickness, disease, past struggles, and anything I’m facing. Thank you that we are entering a season to step into the greater. I don’t want to be part of a faithless and perverse generation. God, show me where I have placed my faith in anything less than you. I accept your invitation to be a faith-filled person that sees you move mightily in ways I’ve never seen. I want to partner with you in a life that’s far beyond what I can measure. Thank you for teaching me what faith is. In Jesus’ name, amen
