Without Faith
“And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” Hebrews 11:6 ESV
Without faith, it is impossible to please God. It’s the one thing that God’s pleasure is contingent on. As we seek God in this season of fasting and have faith that He will perform miracles, be reminded that your faith pleases Him. In our daily encounters, part of the Lord’s prayer is “our Father, in heaven…” When we encounter Him daily, a crucial part of our relationship is understanding Him as a Father and knowing how He delights in us. Every good father loves when his kids draw near and put their faith in him. Just like that, our Heavenly Father is waiting for us to come close, to reward us with more of His presence.
What to Pray:
God, reveal yourself to us as Father. We know that without faith, it is impossible to please you. You are a good Father and it is easy to trust you. We acknowledge that faith in our own abilities doesn’t delight you. Faith in our own power to accomplish anything doesn’t bring you glory. We pray that in this fasting season, we would learn how to please you with our faith and confidence in you and that we would have new revelation on knowing you as Father God. Thank you for making it easy to trust you and for delighting in us when we do. In Jesus’ name, amen.
The Prayer of Jabez:
Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, “Oh [if] that you would bless me [indeed] and enlarge [Expand] my territory, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm [evil] so that it might not bring me pain!” And God granted what he asked. 1 Chronicles 4:10 KJV, NIV, MSG
